Samsung announces the Galaxy Fold, a luxury device starting at $1,980

Forward-looking:  Samsung is venturing into uncharted territory with the Galaxy Fold. Smartphone innovation has been down across the industry and as major markets hit saturation levels, consumers are demanding something new. The Galaxy Fold is certainly a break from the norm, but how will buyers respond to that nearly $2,000 price of entry? All eyes were affixed on Samsung today as the company hosted its latest  Unpacked mobile event . Most suspected Samsung would open with the Galaxy S10 but the company surprised onlookers by diving right into its latest innovation, the  Galaxy Fold . The Galaxy Fold features a 4.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display (21:9) on the outside but when unfolded, the device transforms into a small tablet boasting a 7.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED  Infinity Flex Display  with a QXGA+ resolution (4.2:3). Samsung unveils Galaxy S10, S10e, and S10 Plus with embedded fingerprint scanning and more

Why it matters:  The Galaxy S10 features several new innovations never seen in previous iterations. The S10 doesn't just feature upgrades to the display, camera, and processor, but also new technology that companies have been racing to implement such as behind-the-screen camera sensors, fingerprint scanners integrated into the display, HDR10+ recording, and more that will set the S10 apart from the current generation of smartphones. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S10 at Unpacked in San Francisco on Wednesday. After introducing its  new folding smartphone , it dove right into its highly anticipated flagship phones. Government will support 18-year-old inventor - Prof. Frimpong-Boateng

MESTI) has pledged the government’s support for an 18-year-old inventor who has used empty paper boxes and other materials to design a remote-controlled dummy vehicle, an electronic wardrobe and other items. The prodigy, Samuel Naamgwinaa, who is a first-year student of the Don Bosco Technical Institute at Odumase near Sunyani in the Bono Region, has also developed a water heater, a simple solar system for powering cell phones and lighting bulbs, as well as a computer game console. Samuel was accompanied by his father, Mr Sylvester Dabour, and the Arts and Culture Instructor at the Don Bosco Technical Institute, who discovered Samuel, to showcase his inventions to the ministry yesterday in response to an invitation. GCB sacks ex-UT, Capital Bank workers for 'failing' SSCE, WASSCE

GCB Bank has terminated the contracts of 56 ex-staff of defunct UT and Capital Banks for not possessing the minimum qualification required to work with the bank. The termination of their contracts was done after an audit of employees of the defunct banks exposed issues with the minimum qualification of about 160 staff. The affected staff have since been issued with “termination of appointment” letters signed by the Head of Human Resources, I. Kojo Essel Junior. One of the letters, dated February 12, 2019 said, “We wish to advise that with immediate effect, your services to the Bank will no longer be required. “You will be paid an equivalent of one month’s basic salary in lieu of notice in line with section 29 (a) of our Collective Agreement and other benefits you may be entitled to per your contract of employment (less any indebtedness to the Bank). “You are to hand over any company property that may be in your possession including but not limited to documents, manuals, comp...
