On the authority of His Excellency the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and in keeping with the requirement under Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana, the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta has presented the Budget Statement and Economic Policies of Government for 2019 to Parliament. It is an abridged version of the 2019 Budget Statement.  "I would like to request the Hansard Department to capture the entire Budget Statement and Economic Policy,"  he said. The theme of this year’s budget is “A Stronger Economy, for Jobs and Prosperity”. He also submitted before the August House, the 2018 Annual Report on the Petroleum Funds, in accordance with Section 48 of the Petroleum Revenue Management Act, 2011 (Act 815), as amended. He gave meaning to the indication by listing an extensive array of roads pencilled for construction or reconstruction for the year. According to him, the government is committed to embarking on an integrated infrastructural development programme that will move goods, food items and people from one location to another and will create jobs and prosperity and ensure value for money for Ghana. Ghana Police To Take Over KNUST Security Operations When Students' Resume On Friday

Relations Officer of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kwame Yeboah has said security will be extremely tight on campus when students resume lectures next week. He told  NEAT FM’s  morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ that the police and some military personnel will take over security operations until further notice. “Yes, we will have some mufti dressed police officers and military men on campus. They will not be in their uniform to scare students. We want to senure peace on campus,”  he told host Mac Jerry Osei Agyeman.  After a destructive demonstration that led to a three-week closure of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) – the school is set to reopen on Friday, November 16, 2018.
