On the authority of His Excellency the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and in keeping with the requirement under Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana, the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta has presented the Budget Statement and Economic Policies of Government for 2019 to Parliament. It is an abridged version of the 2019 Budget Statement. "I would like to request the Hansard Department to capture the entire Budget Statement and Economic Policy," he said. The theme of this year’s budget is “A Stronger Economy, for Jobs and Prosperity”. He also submitted before the August House, the 2018 Annual Report on the Petroleum Funds, in accordance with Section 48 of the Petroleum Revenue Management Act, 2011 (Act 815), as amended. Relations Officer of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kwame Yeboah has said security will be extremely tight on campus when students resume lectures next week. He told NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ that the police and some military personnel will take over security operations until further notice. “Yes, we will have some mufti dressed police officers and military men on campus. Hiplife Musician, Eugene Ashie popularly known as Wisa Greid has told an Accra Domestic Violence and Gender Based Court that he exposed fake penis and not his real manhood during a performance on 24th December, 2015. Wisa giving his evidence after swearing with the Bible said he wanted to put up a memorable performance that is why he used the fake penis to boost his popularity. When his lawyer, Jerry Avenorgbor asked him why he came out to apologize after the act, Wisa said it was because of the perception from family, sympathizers, fans and love ones. Kasapa FM’s court correspondent Daakyehene Ofosu Agyeman reported that Wisa presented the fake penis to court as evidence. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to renew their commitment towards the attainment of a single regional currency by 2020. This, he said, would accelerate the agenda for the greater integration of West Africa, raise the living standards of the people, boost economic activities and place the region on an even keel with the global world. President Akufo-Addo made the call when he delivered the opening address at the Fifth Meeting of the Presidential Task Force on the ECOWAS Single Currency at the Accra International Conference Centre, in Accra.
